Candis - Redondo Beach

Beginner Level

Basic (closed position)
qqq - Triple-Step - L foot starts (M)
qqq - Triple-Step - R foot starts (M)
ss - Rock-Back - L foot back (M)

Turn-Out, Turn-In
Basic: On ending rock-back, M leads W forward to start turn-out.
qqq qqq - Turn-Out: M holds W's R hand in his L as W steps fwd turning 1/2 to her R under M's L arm to face M.
ss - Each rocks back, away from each other. Arms should NOT be fully extended (keep close together).
qqq qqq - Turn-In: M pulls W toward him into 1/2 turn to W's L under M's L arm catching her in closed position.
ss - Each rocks back side-by side.

Changing Places
Two-handed start.
R-side under-arm pass, maximum two-hand time.
Rock-back.
Repeat, ending in two-hand position

Cuddles
Two-handed start.
On rock-back, bring W fwd. into 1/2 L turn under M's L arm into side-by-side cuddle.
Basic fwd. / back step in cuddle position.
Unwind W with 1/2 R turn under M's L arm into facint two-hand position.

Sneaky Pete
Basic step, switching to shake-hands position on second triple-step.
Out of rock-back, M pulls W into R-side under-arm pass (W makes 1/2 L turn). M does not turn until W passes behind M, then M reaches behind his back with his L hand to change hands as he spins L 1/2 turn to face W.

Double-Shot
1, 2 3&: M pulls W into R-side under-arm pass. W makes her 1/2 L turn on the "3&."
4, 5& 6: M does 1/2 L turn on 4 under his L arm to face W.

Figure-8 with Head-Loop & Arm-Slide
Start with basic step in two-hands position.
On rock-back, M signals W with subtle crossing/uncrossing of hands.
Triple-step: "Head-Loop" M & W simultaneously raise their arms above heads (turning L a little to their L) and lower their L hands behind their heads, placing their partner's R hands on their R shoulders.
Triple-step: "Arm-Slide" Step back from each other, letting R arms slide down to catch hands.
Rock-back.
Triple-step, Triple-step: M pulls W into R-side under-arm pass, lifting her R hand over his head and onto his L shoulder.
Rock-back: Step back from each other, letting R arms slide down to catch hands.

Kicks
Triple-step, triple-step: On last step, open up to side-by-side position.
Step-back, step-back: M takes 2 steps back (L, R) as W steps back (R, L) and stop side-by-side.
Kick, kick: M & W kick or flick outer foot then inner foot forward and come to closed position (CLOSE TOGETHER!).
Kick, kick: M kicks or flicks R foot then L foot between partner's legs (W with L then R foot) and come to open position.
Repeat step-backs and kicks, ending with rock-back, basic step.

Play Catch
(from closed position)
Triple-step, triple-step, rock-back: On rock-back, M releases W's R hand and
both pivot outward to open position facing M's L, placing inside arms on each other's back.
Triple-step, rock-back: Both step forward side-by-side, making 1/2 turn inward on the triple-step as M "catches" W with his L arm. Both rock back on outside feet.
Triple-step, rock-back: Both step forward side-by-side, making 1/2 turn inward on the triple-step as M "catches" W with his R arm. Both rock back on outside feet.
(repeat L and R catch)
Triple-step, triple-step, rock-back: To end, do Basic step.

Sliding Doors
Start facing each other, M's L hand holding W's R hand.
Rock-Back, Triple, Rock-Back: (#1) Each rocks back to create elastic tension to start first door-slide. M pulls W across toward M's R side with W's back to M and her arms extended. M releases W's R hand as she passes and catches her L hand in M's R hand at end of triple to start rock-back w. W to M's R.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#2) M pulls W across toward M's L side with W's back to M and her arms extended. M releases W's L hand as she passes and catches her R hand in M's L hand at end of triple to start rock-back w. W to M's L.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#3) M's R side.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#4) M's L side.
Triple, Triple, Rock-Back: End with M bring W across in underarm L turn catching her in basic closed position.

Candis – Long Beach

Rock & Roll (0602)
Triple-step, triple-step rock-back.
Triple-step, triple-step: Turn moving fwd: M turns ¾ R (W turns ¾ L) to get just past back-to-back position.
Rock-fwd: On M’s L foot (W’s R foot) with M’s R hand extended fwd to push W’s L hand to start reverse spin.
Triple-step: Turn going back... M turns L (W turns R) to get to face-to-face position holding both hands.
Rock-back.

Three Alternating Inside Turns (0602)
Rock-Back: Starting in two-hands position.
R-Side Pass: M pulls W into pass with W turning ½ L under W’s R arm as M releases W’s L hand at last possible instant before dismemberment, catching W’s L hand and ending in a rock-back facing each other.
Behind-The-Back Pass: M pulls W into pass with M turning ½ L under M’s R arm as M releases W’s R hand at last possible instant, catching W’s R hand and ending in a rock-back facing each other.
R-Side Pass: M pulls W into pass with W turning ½ L under W’s R arm as M releases W’s L hand at last possible instant, catching W’s L hand and ending in a closed swing position.

Swivels (0602)
Rock-Back: Starting in two-hands position.
Triple step: Fwd side-by side, pivoting in toward each other.
Triple step: Fwd side-by side, pivoting away from each other.
Pivot, pivot, pivot, pivot: M’s L foot in, R foot out (repeat) as W mirrors.
(M) Tap-step triple-step to R
(W) Tuck L & Turn R
Rock-Back: With M’s L hand holding W’s R hand.

In & Out (0602)
Triple-Step: (in-out #1) M pulls W in into ½ L turn, catching W at M's R side with M’s R hand on W’s back, both facing same way (where W came from).
Rock-Step: M rocks fwd as W rocks back (elastic).
Triple-Step: M pushes W out into ½ R turn.
Rock-Back: With M’s L hand holding W’s R hand.
Repeat: (in-out #2) .
Rock-Back: With M’s L hand holding W’s R hand.
Triple-Step
: M pulls W in into ½ L turn, this time ending in a cuddle side-by-side.

Flying Lindy
(starts in cuddle position)
1-6: M steps fwd. starting with R foot in circle to R as W steps backwards starting on L foot. On 5, M lifts W's R hand above W's head and pulls her L hand waist-level to lead her R spin (keep circular progress through 6)
Triple-step, rock-back: to end in starter position.

Play Catch
Triple-step, rock-back: On last step of triple, both pivot inward (M 1/4 turn R on his L foot; W L on R foot) placing inside arms on each other's back. Both rock back on outside feet.
Triple-step, rock-back: On last step of triple, both pivot inward (M 1/4 turn L on his R foot; W R on L foot) placing inside arms on each other's back. Both rock back on outside feet.
Triple-step, rock-back: On last step of triple, both pivot inward (M 1/4 turn R on his L foot; W L on R foot) placing inside arms on each other's back. Both rock back on outside feet.
Triple-step, rock-back: On last step of triple, both pivot inward to closed (starter) position. Both rock back.

Lindy Kicks
Triple-step, triple-step: On last step, open up to side-by-side position.
Step-back, step-back: M takes 2 steps back (L, R) as W steps back (R, L) and stop side-by-side.
Kick, kick: M & W kick or flick outer foot then inner foot forward and come to closed position (CLOSE TOGETHER!).
Kick, kick: M kicks or flicks R foot then L foot between partner's legs (W with L then R foot) and come to open position.
Repeat step-backs and kicks, ending with rock-back.

Triple, Rock-Back: (#1) M pulls W across toward M's R side with W's back to M and her arms extended. M releases W's R hand as she passes and catches her L hand in M's R hand at end of triple to start rock-back w. W to M's R.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#2) M pulls W across toward M's L side with W's back to M and her arms extended. M releases W's L hand as she passes and catches her R hand in M's L hand at end of triple to start rock-back w. W to M's L.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#3) M's R side.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#4) M's L side.
Front / behind passes...
Triple, Rock-Back: (#1) M pulls W across toward M's R side with W's back to M and her arms extended. M releases W's R hand as she passes and catches her L hand in M's R hand at end of triple to start rock-back w. W to M's R. On this rock-back, M steps a little fwd. and leads W behind M to start revolving doors sequence.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#2) M pulls W across toward M's L side with M's back to W and his arms extended. M releases W's L hand as she passes behind him and catches her R hand in M's L hand at end of triple to start rock-back w. W to M's L.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#3) M's R side W's back to M.
Triple, Rock-Back: (#4) M's L side M's back to W.
Triple, Triple, Rock-Back: M pulls W across in front of M, turning her 1/2 to W's L and catching her in closed position on first triple, then triple-step rock-step to close in basic position.
